NCCAOM Foundations: Foundations
This class gives detailed information on what is essential to pass the NCCAOM exam(s). From discussions on foundations, tongue and pulse, and the different diagnostic systems, all information is covered. No stone is left unturned.
NCCAOM Foundations: Diagnosis I
This class contains the relevant information to know from the 4 Pillars: Observation, Hearing, Smelling, Interrogation and Palpation. Knowing this information will cement your understanding of Zang Fu Theory.
NCCAOM Foundations: Diagnosis Tongue and Pulse
Tongue and pulse are very important diagnostic systems. They appear on exams in two different forms. The first way is in short answer memorization-type questions based on the pulse names, pulse qualities and pulse indications as they appear in the textbooks. The second way is how tongue and pulse appear in different Zang Fu patterns, Shan Han Lun patterns and other presentations across different TCM Diagnostic Theories. This form is good to know for case studies. This class covers both types of test questions and how to prepare for each one.
NCCAOM Foundations: Diagnosis II – Zang Fu Patterns
Clear comprehension of Zang Fu pattern differentiation is an essential part of the information needed to pass the NCCAOM exam(s). We examine and identify the symptoms, making diagnostic options clear and simple.
NCCAOM Foundations: Treatment Principles
Treatment principles are an important but often under-emphasized subject in schools. For your board exams, you want to know them well. The progression in treatment is to collect information on signs and symptoms from a case study, pull those together into a clear diagnosis and then come up with a treatment principle for the case. If the diagnosis is off, the treatment principle will be wrong.
NCCAOM Foundations: Diagnosis III-IV – Case Study Analysis
This class explores memorization strategies, teaching you how to gain command of the vast amount of information needed to pass your exam. The second part of this class teaches you how to logically take a multiple choice exam, focusing on methods to eliminate the tendency to guess at the correct answer. This class completes with the TCM Review Seminars method to the dissection of Case Studies.
NCCAOM Foundations: TCM Diagnostic Theories
In this class, we cover the Theory of Disease according to the Channels. Think of these as their own individual patterns with symptoms that manifest when the channel is diseased. Which channel? This can be the Primary Channels, the Luo (Cutaneous) Channels, the 8 Extraordinary Channels or the Muscle Meridian Channels.
NCCAOM Foundations: Etiology, Pathophysiology, Diet and Lifestyle
This class covers the new content for the 2020 NCCAOM Foundations Content Outlines. These new areas focus on cause of disease (etiology) and how the cause of disease leads to the manifestation of particular patterns in the body. The class concludes with videos on nutrition, lifestyle changes and self-care modalities.
NCCAOM Foundations: Nutrition
This one-hour class covers the essential nutrition information for the NCCAOM exams. Information from Paul Pitchford’s Healing with Wholefoods and Maoshing Ni’s Tao of Nutrition has been condensed down into the golden nuggets that will get you through the test.

Internet Connection
Most modern computers can stream videos and live events with no problem. In order to participate in the TCM Review exam prep courses, please consider your internet speed.
We use Vimeo to stream our class videos. Watching a YouTube video with no problem is not a good indicator of whether you will be able to participate in the course (especially live webinars) without interruption – the quality of YouTube videos is much lower.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Recorded videos – at least 2-3 mbps download speed
- Live webinars – at least 4-6 mbps download speed and 6-10 mbps of upload speed
To determine your internet speed, check with your internet service provider (Comcast, Verizon, etc.) or run a test at speedtest.net.
